WCMD Blog Hop and Giveaway!

Hello there! Did you see my post from yesterday?? So, the big news is that Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking magazine is officially no more at the end of this year. SO, what does that mean? Well, mostly it means we are all really really sad!

But also, that means that this card you see below, will never be published. This was one of my entries for World Card Making Day 2014, and it won in the birthday category! Usually winners are published in a magazine issue, but since that won't be happening all the winners of WCMD 2014 are having their own little blog hop. We are all so excited!!

Here are the amazing ladies who all get to share in this fun news with me! You can find all their blog links at the end of this post. Have fun hopping!

First off, you should have come here from SIMONE's blog. (If you want to go back to the beginning or get lost at any time, just click from the list below.)

Here is my card:

I chose to do the stamp kissing technique for this one. I used some Mama Elephant balloons, a Hero Arts design block for kissing and Sweet Stamp Shop for the sentiment.

And let me tell ya, I totally sweat bullets over the placement of those enamel dots! I don't know why they are so hard for me, but I'm vexed every time.

Here is the list of winners with three ladies in each category. If you have some time, take a look and leave some love. We are all going through a mourning process over this and there is always room for a kind word to all who are affected by this change.

Plus, be sure to read the fine print because some of us ladies are having a bit of a giveaway. Yes! You heard me right! I received a plethora of prizes and I want TO SHARE that love with YOU! Thank you so much to each of you for your kind comments and support through this last year. It has been AMAZING! So many new opportunities, and fun things to be apart of, and you have been with me through it all. So please LEAVE ONE COMMENT for me here for this visit and ONE COMMENT here if you LIKE my Facebook page. Each will give you an entry into my giveaway of lots of fun prizes! Contest ends Dec. 10!

Thanks so much for stopping in today. Love to you and yours!

WCMD and Sweet Stamp Shop

Happy World Card Making Day....again!! This is my second post for the day so if you have come to visit, be sure to scroll down to the other post and stay awhile!

Today Sweet Stamp Shop is offering a little WCMD freebie for you! It is so cute, that I am sure you will love it. I used him and some new images (soon to be released) for my card today.

Take a look:

Just a little side note, I drew out my rectangle in pencil using my T-ruler, before going over it with a black marker. I stamped my sentiment where I wanted it to go and then drew the black line. I erased any pencil marks after I was done.

I cut out some extra eyes and popped them up on my monsters. I also covered them all with glossy accents for a bit of oomph!

Next up (no, I could NOT make just one card with these little guys!) I got this black embossing paste in the mail, just in time. I love white paste, but I have been wanting to try it in black and it's kind of a pain to mix it yourself. I figure a bottle of white AND black is all a girl needs. I can mix all the other colours in-between, right?  Well, I think I was right because I am so happy to have it in my arsenal!

I applied it to my stencil, and this is how it came out. I like it!

I die cut a circle out of it to make a little peek-a-boo card. I put the monster and the sentiment on the inside of the card and left the polka dots to the outside.

I love his mean little face... I think I need to make up a whole slew of these cards for the next 15 years while my kids grow. There are days I can be a mean-y face! Of course I regret it and I have to apologise. But this would be a great way to do it. I am sure they would appreciate it!

Ok! That concludes all my WCMD cards! I hope you enjoyed them. Thanks for stopping in. Be sure to stop by the Sweet Stamp Shop blog to get your own freebie and take a look at all the other inspiration. Just prepare yourself, this next release is going to be a good one (um, they all are, aren't they!?)

Until next time...

WCMD and CutCardStock.com

Happy World Card Making Day to you!! Today is extra special for us paper crafters... It's the one day were we have a legit excuse to shut down everything in life and make a card! (even though I take every excuse I can, regardless of the day... just saying')

I used up some CutCardStock.com products for my card today. Here is their basic black card stock, stamped using some Hero Arts white ink. I LOVE this stamp (also by Hero Arts)

Isn't it striking with white on black? Mmmm, my favourite.. I chose some flowers by Jane's Doodles. I love these flowers too. In fact, I'm new to Jane's Doodles stamps, but I really like what she has there! You should check it out.

CutCardStock.com has a plethora of envelopes you can buy and I just happen to have some to work with. I chose these gorgeous black ones to make up a matching envie with my card. Mostly because I can not help but stamp this gorgeous image over and over again. Can you blame me?

I made up a little die cut tag using the same flower image but a different sentiment (Avery Elle). I added some sweet, heart enamel dots for a finishing touch. The envelope is kind of a nice thing to add to a present or even to get in the mail! I think you could easily add the address to a sticker on the back and mail away.

You can check out the specials going on right now over at CutCardStock.com. They always have something to catch your eye. And I hope you enjoy your World Card Making Day!

Tell me, are you making a card today? This is the first year I have actually remembered the day and participated in some card making magic. And I am glad I can. I hope you can too!

Thanks for stopping in today. I will be over at CutCardStock.com for a post next week as well as a here for a personal post featuring more Sweet Stamp Shop love, so be sure to stop in again next week!

Until then... just keep on stamping.
