Ahoy Little Sailor

Happy Monday people!! Today's card was actually created for last weeks 365 Cards sketch and then I quickly found out (or maybe not quick enough) that I had used the wrong sketch!!
So I get to share it with you here:
It's based off of an old sketch from April. Let me know if you want to see the original. This was a fun one to do and since it was Art Glitter week, I did add glitter details to the card. You can click for a better look.

You know, last week was a long hard week for me. Patrick worked really late every night and I was just tired tired, but man was I loving my craft time!! Patrick is actually out of town this week so I have plenty of crafting hours to look forward to. I think I need to try some new techniques to keep my mind learning, what do you think? Can't wait to share more with you this week.

Hope all is well with you and your weekend treated you with the respect you deserve!

Take-Off Tuesday #20

Welcome to this weeks Take Off. Another beauty from Serena and Lily:

Don't you just want to swoon all over the place? I love this picture so much and found it muy inspirational! Here is my take:

I pulled out some old stamps that I love but don't use very often. I got them at the Purple Turtle Stamp Shoppe online, but I can't for the life of me find the website. Did they go out of business?? Oh please someone let me know! The stamp set is called French Quarter, and I don't even know the brand. OY! This is not good! Well, they are great and if anyone knows, drop me a line so I can post it.
I punched out those circles and put them on pop dots for some dimension, and paper pierced the elephant to give it a nice polka dot look. My ribbon was a bit wide so I twisted it and it seemed to help. So thats it! Thanks for stopping by today, and as always I would love for you to play along, just create and post a link in the comments so I can check it out!

Also, I am looking for the perfect Robin's Egg Blue... Anyone have suggestions of some ink and paper? I am dying for some!!

Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!

It's that time again!!
This months blog hop is all about background stamping. And if you read this blog or know anything about me, you know that I LOVE background stamping. It is such a rewarding way to stamp! So I am glad I got to participate this month. I started with quite a few sets, see if you can tell where I used them:

Around & About Sentiments
Guide Lines
Polka Dot Basics
Beautiful Blooms

You can probably see all of them but Around & About Sentiments. I used the outline circle from that set to add a third circle to the Guide Lines Stamp. I stamped Lemon Tart with SU! Summer Sun which adds a great punch. The pink is SU! Pink Passion, although in hindsight I have no idea why I didn't use Raspberry Fizz. It's almost the same thing, but so much better.

And here is my card!
That ribbon looks like Pure Poppy, but I assure you its actually Raspberry Fizz. Darn Camera.
I popped up the little bunny from the Bitty Blessings set to add to my tag. Hope you like!  Can't wait to see what everyone else whipped up. Papertrey Ink Blog Hop always has the most amazing entries and it's so fun to hop around and see them, so that is what I am going to go do!
Thanks for stopping by!

Craft Alert!!: Baby Shower Thank You Cards

Since I am interested a bit in crafts, once in a while I will be posting a project that I am working on. I figure that since not everyone will be interested in reading about it, I will post the project with the title Craft Alert!! so that you are fore warned. If you don't want to read, just pass on by. So without further ado....

I have so many friends having babies this year. So I have been doing a few baby gifts and trying out a few techniques that I have seen on other blogs. This post is a baby card set that I have put together for a baby shower this weekend.

These are pre-scored white card bases that I actually bought in a pack of 100 (plus envies) at a Wal-Mart in Virginia, for (of course) cheap. Quite a score for a project like this. I used another favorite stamp set from Paper Trey Ink called Bitty Baby Blessings. I used the paper piecing technique that I saw used by many of their designers and on other blogs around. Basically you stamp the image on patterned paper, and cut it out. I then cut 3 x 3 card stock in summer sunrise and lemon tart (also PT) glued the stamped image on it and added grommets to the corners.

I then altered a clear plastic box that PT uses to package their stamp sets to create a personalized box for the gift receiver. Is that green enough for ya or what?!
Here is my finished project:

On the back I stamped with PT Simple Alphabet. I would post a pic of it, but can't seem to get my computer to download it.
So that's it. Off to the baby shower!
