Sweet Stamp Shop November Release!

Hey there Sweet-y Peeps! Today kicks off the official release for November at The Sweet Stamp Shop! Welcome Welcome!! Maybe you have come from their BLOG or maybe you're just stopping in? If so, you can click over and see all that the design team has in store for you after you take a look.

If you haven't already, you have to see these sweet pandas. They are really adorable!

I made a long shaker card with my pandas. I have these manilla tags that are just so fun to use. I inked mine up using some Distress Ink and then punched three squares using my 3/4" square punch.
I covered the windows with some acetate and then made a little frame of foam adhesive to hold in my sparkles! (I remember traveling to Washington D.C. when I was 7 years old and we visited the zoo. My first ever panda experience! I loved it so much I bought myself some postcards featuring the panda and I still have them! I have always had a soft spot in my heart for the animal (and the colours white and black ;) And now I have them in my stamp arsenal. These are bound to make anyone smile. So use them up!

Ok, next I have a scalloped circle card. I used the chopsticks to make a 'circle' in the background. And then coloured my little panda and his pho noodles and popped them up in front. Yo! Hands off the Chops!! (That cute face could never be mad at you....)

I coloured everything with Copics. With the cheeks I used the R20 and then ran over it with my colourless blender to help mellow it out a bit. I think it worked pretty well. I also used this same technique to add some grey highlights to the tummy and face.

Here is a little closeup of the opening of the card.

And just another one because I think its so cute.... Man I'm like a grandma with a brag book! I can't stop showing you my cute little grandkid! (and his bowl)

Cutie little face....Go on, admit that I am right.

Alright, that's it for me today. Thanks so much for stopping by. Be sure to click HERE for a look at the entire November release. Paper Wings Productions Nov. Challenge!

Hello there! Happy November!! Today is the first Paper Wings Productions post for the month! This month's challenge is Anything Goes!

I love this challenge. Sometimes is nice to just free-range-it in the craft room, am I right??

Well here is my challenge project for the month of Nov. Let's see if you can spot what I did:

One of my favourite things to do is  repeat stamping. Sometimes it can just make one stamp look completely different. I found these big manila tags at my local art store. They were pretty cheap for a big bag so I scooped them up knowing I could (and should) use them for any number of projects. And sure enough, it only took 2 days until I found a use for them!

I chose the Sacred Geometry set and used this one circle stamp to cover my tag.

I then took 4 Copic markers and my Uniball white gel pen that I got from CutCardStock.com and coloured them up. You can see the steps here:

The white gel pen really added a nice dimension to it. Then it was just a matter of making these tags up to be gift ready. I think they are pretty general so you could use them for any occasion. I love the funky colours and design.

And that's it! Thanks for joining me today. Be sure to hop on over to Paper Wings Productions blog: The Aviary, for your chance to win some Paper Wings gift certificate love!!

Thanks for stopping by today! I love when you visit me. I have some news up my sleeve so be sure to check back tomorrow! There will be lots of fun things coming to enjoy!

Until next time...

The Card Concept #22

Hello there, and good morning to you! Today is the day... another challenge over at The Card Concept!

Here is our inspiration photo:

And here is my take on the challenge.

This week we were told to create in whichever style we wanted. When I first read that, I just stared at the computer for awhile. I think I may have even rubbed my eyes a few times. I was totally stumped at what to do!

What I decided to do was to NOT pick a style first, but just create something and see what happened, and THEN I would put it in a category. I guess you could say I still don't know what kind of style I gravitate to... But anyway, this is what came out. A simple, Clean and Layered card. SO that must be it!

I stamped my sentiments and leaves first and then cut it up into three strips. I had some of these left-over red inked strips that I put in between the white strips which are popped up with dimensional foam. I embossed my card base with  a checkered pattern and added some gold sequins. Pretty simple!

I hope you get a chance to sit down in the next two weeks and create something fun for this challenge. I love looking through all the links. You all have so many great ideas! It's a great way to get inspired and learn about new carmakers out there. I can't wait to see what you create! Be sure to stop by The Card Concept  BLOG and like us on FaceBook for some inspiration and challenge reminders through out the weeks of each challenge.

Thanks for checking in with me today! Until next time... just keep on crafting

Lawn Fawn: Happy Hanukkah!

Hello there! I bet you didn't think you would be seeing me again so soon, eh?  Well, it seems Lawn Fawn is having a little contest to fill in a few spots for their Facebook team and I thought I would give it a go! I made this little guy up just for the occasion:

There is something lovely about white embossing paste on white card stock. I do love it. What about you?!  I used the Stitched Journaling Card die cut from Lawn Fawn and their Happy Hanukkah set.

I heat embossed the menorah with gold embossing powder and stamped the sentiment in blue. I also have a PLETHORA of ribbon from when it was all the rage (remember that!?) Well, I figured a little ribbon treatment would be ok. You know, it still has its place, I think (besides sitting in my drawer!)

That's it for now. Very simple card. It pulls together fast but has some details that make you happy. That's the kind of card I like!

Thanks for stopping in today to say hello! You can check out my Facebook page HERE and you should stop by the Lawn Fawn Facebook page too.  Have you seen the listing for the design team spot? You can see it HERE.  See if you want to take a crack at the contest yourself!

Until next time....

Where have I been? I've been Missing YOU!

Hey there crafty peeps! It's been awhile. Nay, I dare say it's been forever!! I kind of went quiet there, but for good reason. I have been gone.

Can you guess where?:

A good friend and I took a quick weekend trip to Bangkok! We ditched our kids (and hubbys too) and took a break. Bangkok is amazing. As I am sure a lot of you know. We had a great time. I won't bore you with my travel details but will show you a few things I saw along the way.

Each time I visit a (predominantly) Buddhist country I learn so much more about their beliefs. I dare say its one of my favourite religions.  We saw so many amazing Buddha statues. This following one is just about the biggest one I have seen. (The other one is in Myanmar). We had a great time and it was nice to shut down for a bit. The internet was spotty so I didn't really know what was going on elsewhere. But now I am back, and jumping in again!

So today I wanted to share a little card with you that I made to submit to publication. It didn't get picked up which means I can show it to you!

I started with a water-colour paper and heat embossed this Lawn Fawn image onto it.

Next came the distress inks and water brush.

Then came the card!!

I used some gold metallic paper to mat the white paper. I wanted it simple because all the stuff going on. With colours and little images, you can't go crazy everywhere else on a card.

I added a glossy heart to my home state of Utah. Which of course, is where I am missing all my family! It was also super convenient that the heart just *happens* to balance out the look of the card. Don't you think? If I put the heart on NY (which is where we moved from, and I miss terribly too!) It wouldn't look as good. It would have covered up all of the state! Anyway, just a little peek into my crafty brain. ya?

Ok. That's it for today! Thanks for stopping in and not giving up on me while I have been gone :)

Be sure to check over at CutCardStock.com for my little home decor post going up later tonight. And of course there is always some thing else going on, so be sure to check back in for some Sweet Stamp Shop and Paper Wings Productions all which are coming next week.

Until next time...

Sweet Stamp Shop: Thinking Of You

Hey there, Fancy Pants! Welcome to the 'ol blog! Today I am sharing a new card from Sweet Stamp Shop.

Here she is:

One of the things I LOVE to do is create my own stamped backgrounds. I bet if you looked in your stash you can find a few things that work together to make your own amazing stamped background. These two sets put together made up this sweet background. I wanted to go for a kind of floral fabric look.

The sequin stamp is from the Bling stamp set and the flowers are from Elegant Flowers set.  I colored the flowers with Copic Markers and then added the sequins in Mint Julep ink by Hero Arts.

I die cut my sentiment medallion and stamped my image from Condolences stamp set.

It was a really easy card to come together. Remember, if you want to stamp a background, be sure to space your big images out first and then add the little images in after. That will help you with balance.

Thanks for stopping by today! Did you get to check out the new release? It's pretty fan-fabulous! Be sure to click HERE If you haven't seen it yet. You can see it in all its glory!

Until next time....just keep on stamping!
