Welcome Baby

Just another baby card to get your day started right:

I love this houndstooth stamp from CHF. It is delightful in just about ANY color. Go ahead.... try it yourself and see! I added some glitter to my stars, although I should say I added some stars to my twine and buttons, since as of late I always have those two things on EVERY card. I just love it. Don't you? Here is a shot of the inside:
Isn't that darn cute? (um... that photo is C.L.O.S.E. up isn't it!?! Sheesh!)
Ok. That's all for today. Must go now and I really hope you are having a great day!
loves~

Home Of The Free

Well, here we are friends. My long weekend has begun. And boy has it started with a bang! Last night I went boating with some friends to celebrate a friends birthday (same friend I made THIS card for... I didn't give it too her, but that is because I forgot!) I tried wake boarding for the first time and must say I LOVED it! Can't wait to go again. Now how to just convince friends to keep taking me ; )

This morning I woke up and went for a good run. I am feeling fine about the 5k we are running tomorrow, so that is good. Although I do believe I am developing a knee problem. I feel like I am getting old. Or I just have bad knees. But I feel great now that I have gone out (um, the first time in over a week!)

Then we had THIS for breakfast. I tell you it was just a glorious as it looks (although mine were not as pretty ; ) I even made the Orange Maple Butter. Pure Heaven People. I totally recommend it to everyone. It will make your day! Now I am listening to the kids play outside with their dad (he is free all weekend!) and I get to come talk crafty with you! I already LOVE today!

Ok. Here is my card for today:

I realized I have quite a few star stamp sets. And really that is the ONLY kind of thing I have that suits the holiday. So I set out to make a few different cards for this weekend. This one is a bit different as far as the colors I chose. I didn't want them all to be red white and blue! I used some K&Co. paper for my flourishes and added my Gel-A-Tin Stars.

And what are your plans for this weekend? I hope it is a glorious one! I will be back tomorrow with more patriotic love and then be sure to check back on Sunday for the 365 Sketch!

Have a good one!

365 Cards Super Sketchy Sunday!!

Hey there all! I have had school on the brain lately. Ronin had his Kindergarten Orientation last week, and my mother is a school teacher and it all ends for her in 3 weeks! I am trying hard to prepare myself to be a mother of a school kid. It's quite a stretch for me ; )
So because of all this, I thought I would break out my favorite teacher set by Kim Hughes to use for today's sketch. Here it is:It stumped me for a bit, but you know Pam always stumps me. She is so great at giving challenges! Here is my card:

This is the first Kim Hughes set I ever purchased and I still adore every bit about it. Most of the images are from 'Making The Grade'. The grass is from her 'Summer Trees' set and the two patterned stars are from Gel-A-Tins.
Here is a close-up. I have this large spool of burlap that I inherited and I have been dying to use it on a card. I threaded some bakery twine by Martha Stewart through it to give me the diagonal in the sketch. I added in the school house because my card was visually off balance.  It was important to add even if it deviated from the sketch a bit. But of course that's what makes doing this fun! I can't wait to see how you interpret today's sketch. I hope you have fun with it!

Have a great one today!
love to you and yours~
