I'm actually giddy about this card. I think I is sooo clever!  This card totes TWO of my recent scores. One is the twine which you already know about and the other is the free alphabet stamps given to my by my lovely friend Natasha. Hello Friend, (again)

Just a quick one. I'm working on a few layouts again for sets to be given as gifts. I wanted a bright yet funky, clean and urban outfitter-ish feel for someone that I think would like it. (Can't tell you who just incase they are lurking out there) What do you think? Maybe I should try more colors? or even more images?  Will keep working and eventually post what I create, if I create it in time  ; )

Re-Fashioned Monogrammed Box

I have had this old paper Victoria Secret's Box laying around for about a year now. I have always thought it would be great re-done. I have been using it to hold ribbon and decided I was finally tired of looking at a half dressed woman. So I remade it! I found some American Craft Paper from the Play series that matched the box tie well. I pulled out my favorite Modge Podge and got to work. (I actually had pictures of this, but for the life of me cannot find them anywhere, so trust me when I say the pictures were informative and cool looking. : )

I cut the paper to fit each side, top and bottom, used the Podge on the underside and top side, waited for it to dry and started to embellish a bit. The circles reminded me of a monogram so I thought I would go with that idea.
On the inside I did a contrasting striped paper and added a punched out circle for interest. I really loved how fast it was to re-do and the finished product. Once that was complete I tried to put my ribbon back in it and just felt stupid. This box was WAY to pretty to be used for just ribbon, so I made up some monogrammed cards to go with it.
I picked 2 really simple designs to mass produce and put them together in about a half hour.
Let me be the first to say, I do realize the monogram on the box and on the cards are different. This is very much how I work. I did them on separate days with separate inspiration so they kind of ended up a bit different. I used red on the box and when it came time for the cards, this Ripe Avocado paper from Papertrey Ink fit so perfectly and the monogram just followed. I used the alphabet set from Stampers Anonymous, added some American Craft black ribbon and I was done. 
A simple, yet striking gift to give to anyone with the monogram K. Good thing I know a few of them. I see Christmas on the horizon....

Just a quick post today since we are all about the Halloween Festivities. I fussy cut this Elvira from my K&Co Patterned Paper and used a die cut embellishment for the sentiment. A little kookie looking but I like it.

Sweet 4x4

Doesn't that candy look SaWeeeeeet???? I love these cute die cut embellishments from K&Co. I popped them up with dots to give dimension and added them to my sweet little 4x4 card.
What do you think? Makes me want to eat eat eat!! Plus the glitter on it is fine and colorful and oh so yummy, although I didn't actually taste it, but wanted too.

Trick Or Treat

We have been preparing here for our famous church Halloween party. This year instead of buying bags and bags of candy, I opted to make simple little boxes for only so many kids. We never have too many at our Trunk Or Treat and I usually have guilt for dumping so much candy on the kids. 

Inside we have ONE mini candy bar and a bouncy eye ball. very Halloweenish. I picked up the tutorial off of Lisa's Blog Craft Store Junkie. She has really great tutorials and wonderful pictures, so head on over to check it out. The specific tutorial is HERE.   I love it because it can be fashioned for ANY occasion. I chose to use up some old Halloween scrapbook paper I had laying around. You know, I'm trying the "use it up"  instead of "throw it out" method. This is just the project for that.

Up close you can see that I used my Simple Alphabet to spell out Trick Or Treat since I have zero Halloween stamps. I used the Tiled Scalloped Backgrounder too add some interest to my plain cardstock.

These literally took me an hour to put together. SO easy and fast. I'm glad I can give out something homemade and from the heart, I just wish I wouldn't have eaten the rest of the candy bars from the bag. Such a bad habit of mine. I even tried to wait until the last days of the month before purchasing candy to avoid this problem. Looks like I need more self control ; )

Halloween 5x5 Card

I couldn't let the holiday pass by without a few more Halloween Cards. I had picked up some of this K&Co. Specialty paper and embellishments from Michael's for the last of the season sale. Thought I would use some of it up for cards and hopefully some scrapbooking if I ever get around to it. Something tells me I will have this paper for at least a year before looking at it again.
