Welcome 2009!

Finally my camera is home from it's two week stint in Vegas (oh, and so is my husband!) and I can sit down and get some cards up on this old blog 'o mine.  Here is a card I made on New Year's Eve as we watched the ball drop. I guess you can see the inspiration! I got my very own Cuttlebug this Christmas (thanks Santa!) and have been playing quite a bit. It's the best thing my scrap stash has seen as I am finally getting through some of this paper.

And finally I get to share my New Year's thoughts with you all. Here is to all acquaintances old and new. Here is to being a better person, a better nation, a better world. Here is to all the wonderful things 2009 holds for each of us. The trials and joys, the inspiration and growth. Happy New Year to you all!

Be Mine

A little 4 x 4 card for the coming holiday. Yes, I am aware it is still a month away, but with the Heart Prints stamp set, how could I possibly sit by and not post a ton of Valentine's Cards? I love this one. The little heart in the set helped finish off the ribbon with some home made tassels. Here's a little close up.
Another great thing about this set is that Papertrey Ink sells heart punches to coordinate. It makes making heart cards easy-peasy. Also, just so you know I picked up this color combo (the PTI, Plum Pudding and Raspberry fizz from Dawn's blog at My Favorite Things.  She has the best combos you could think of. Thanks Dawn!!

Take-Off Tuesday #10

Here is this weeks Take-Off brought to you by the Garnet Hill magazine. I love the things in this mag, but have yet to buy anything due to the price tags. But this little number jumped out at me from the pages;

I love the bold colors and of course the pattern. I just received a new stamp set from my mother for Christmas. Heart Prints by Papertrey Ink. I thought the small heart would be a perfect way to translate this card. Unfortunately the things I love about this pic went straight into the card and therefor maybe this week should be called Rip-Off Tuesday.
I love the colors together. Who woulda thunk it?! I like this little number. Easy and cute. Just as it should be.
Thanks for stopping in today. See you next time!

Happy New Year!

I stayed up last night to welcome in the New Year and made a card to boot. Only problem is my camera is at work in Vegas with my husband and won't be back for another 8 days!!! SHEESH! What's a paper crafting blogger to do? I guess you will have to wait for pictures of things I am working on. But don't worry, I will be back next tuesday so check back!
happy new year to all of you!

One Last Christmas Gift

I wanted to post this last hand made gift given to a friend who loves the earth. I inherited a button maker a bit ago, and thought some buttons for her girls would be a good way to send a good message.
And the actual gift for my friend was these hand-stamped towels. The earth was made with some fabric ink and a stencil picked up at the sewing expo. The tree is from the Papertrey Ink Father Knows Best set. (Please note I saw the tree and slogan on another blog and borrowed the idea!) The earth slogan I made up myself, so there was some creativity involved. I used the Simple Alphabet to make up the slogans.
And thats it for our hand-made Christmas. Can't wait till next year!!
Happy Holidays!

Take-Off Tuesday #9

This weeks Take-Off Tuesday comes from the Crate and Barrel Catalog. I {Heart} these colors so much and I felt they matched perfectly to some SU! Ink I have.

I quickly realized that I am missing both my Pacific Blue and Summer Sun so I had to improvise. I used a bit of a darker blue and used only a little of it. I dug up some yellow from waaaay back in my drawer. Whew, crisis averted!

Here is my card. I got to use some of my new winter survival stamps from Sassafras Lass. I really {heart} them too!  Of course I had to use some PTI stamps, because their designs go with every style. (you should check out their December Release Products. They are really great as always!)
I really like how this card turned out and sent it out to a new friend here that invited us to dinner.
Have you seen anything this week that has inspired you? Keep your eyes peeled. It's all around.
See you next week!
