Sweet Stamp Shop December Release!!

Hello!! It's that time again.... Time to release the dickens out of the Sweet Stamp Shop! Today I get to share with you a few of my projects. First I have this penny rolling card:

This uses the new Petite Sweet Give 'Em Tacos. Anyone out there know the song "Funky Town" ?? I have been singing it ever since I saw this sentiment. Here is a little clip of it, if you would like to sing along! I wanted my taco to be moving (like the song says) so I opted for a moving card. (Sentiment is from last months released Taco Bout It)

Next up is Petite Sweet Granny Panties! How funny is this set!?  I wanted my panties to be hot hot hot! I chose two sentiments from last months reveal and 'paired' the with Granny Panties. (Ha Ha! Pun totally intended!)

I also took the fire image from Dragon to give my card some heat. I stamped both on the white and coloured card stock and used Copics to color.

Next up is Quilt Stitch. I LOVE this set! I love the whimsy of the design but also it is very versatile. I chose to use just the quilt squares for my background and made up this holiday card.

I coloured them all with trio sets of Copic markers. I then used the Monogram Alpha set to stamp my 'holidays' sentiment and used a die cut for the rest. I also matted it all on a scalloped rectangle die cut.

I couldn't stop playing with this set and made up a second card making a little lighter and brighter card. I used Copics again in three colours (red, yellow and blue tones) and used them to outline the card base.

I used a die cut heart to ground my sentiment and covered it with Glossy Accents. I also used an itty bitty die cut heart on the sewing machine. The heart is already there in the design but I wanted to change up the color. I LOVE this sewing machine! In fact I coloured it to be a lot like the Singer machine I actually own. It has turquoise accents too!

And just for your viewing enjoyment, I have this little baby... I was going to save it for another post, but I want to go out with a bang! I coloured and fuzzy cut all my panties and laid them out. I popped up my artsy panties to give it a bit more dimension.

I chose the sentiment from Artsy Fartsy and hand drew my lines to help pull in the focus onto the centre of the card. My T-ruler is the best purchase I have made in a long time!!

So, how Artsy Fartsy are you feeling today?? Have you seen the entire release? You can see it RIGHT HERE. Then, put on your big girl panties and head on over to the store and get your artsy order in!!

Thanks so much for stopping in today! I hope you have a great week!

Sweet Stamp Shop Christmas Panda

Hello there! I'm stopping in real quick to share with you a little bit of blended Sweet Stamp Shop stamps. I mixed up Holiday Town with Pho You and this is what came out:

I have this little poloroid die cut that my sentiment fit perfectly. I wanted to have my little panda poking out. And I LOVE these christmas lights! So cute! I also used the background stamp to add some snow to my red square. Simple, but lots to look at.

I even went crazy and sewed around my edges. I don't do that often, so when I do, you know I mean bizz-ness! I added some Wink Of Stella to my lights and dry embossed my background.

And that's all for right now! Be sure to check back at the end of this week. I will be posting my winner from my WCMD Giveaway as well as linking over to my DT post at A Walk Down Memory Lane. So lots to look forward to!

The Card Concept: #25

Hey there! Today is the day for a new challenge over at The Card Concept. This one is a fun one, although it is a bit different of a color combo for me.

Here is my card:

I actually loved creating with this combo. It kind of got me back to my neutral roots. I used to burn through Kraft card stock before switching over to white this year, which I now burn through even faster. So it was good to get into my stash again. And of course you can never go wrong with white on Kraft. I started with my snowflakes for a base design and then moved on from there to add the other colours in the challenge.

I picked up these new Mama Elephant stamps sets. I am a SUCKER for their stuff! So cute! I used some Copics to color and added some flocking to her hat for some added texture. I added some wood dots and snowflakes from Lawn Fawn and MME (respectively) and of course some regular MME enamel dots. I also put some Glossy Accents on her buttons to help them pop a bit. My sentiment was stamped using some Clear and Simple Stamp ink first and then I did some Memento Ink Luxe Pigment ink over top.  When you stamp with pigment ink first (the snowflakes) and then a dye ink over top of it (the sentiment) the dye ink will soak into the paper and let the pigment ink show through. Which was fine but it was still a little light so I opted to put some pigment ink on top to help it stand out.

Ok. that's it for me today! I hope you are having a great start to your week and I hope you get a chance to play along with the challenge over on THE BLOG.  This is my last challenge for this design team. I have had a great time working with each challenge and the amazing designers over at The Card Concept! So head on over and share some love!

I have my in-laws visiting this month which is always great and we went out and watched the new Penguins of Madagascar movie with the whole family. My kids were so excited but SO tired when we got home. I'm usually pretty strict on bedtime because it makes us all happier in the long run, so they were pretty messed up when it finally came down to getting to bed. When my kids get too tired they are so difficult to deal with! But they finally conked out and so I can relax peacefully at my computer tonight :)

Thanks for stopping in today! Remember you have ONE MORE DAY to get in on my giveaway. You can check out all THE INFO HERE. I have some stamps, die cuts, sprays, papers and embellishments to give away! And they could be yours, so check it out!!

love to you...

Sweet Stamp Shop: Taco 'Bout It.

Hey there! I'm stopping in today to share with you a card for Sweet Stamp Shop using their newly released "Taco 'Bout it" stamp set.

Let me show you!:

Isn't it cute?! Here is what I did for my card. I stamped my little taco guy like crazy loco! I coloured them all in using Copic markers.

I die cut a frame from the Papertrey Ink shaker die cut set. And also die cut the word 'awesome' using a Technique Tuesday die cut and covered it with some glossy accents. I used the Monogram Alpha stamp set to stamp the word "you're" and only partially stamped the word 'sorry' from Dad's Tool Box to create the word 'so'  Wow, does that make sense? That's a lot of ""s  Anyway, I put it all on a black card base to complete the card.

And there ya have it! This card is for each and every one of YOU! You're definitely so awesome.... let's not taco 'bout it!
Thanks for your visit and taking the time to comment! I am currently out of town visiting the amazing island of Bali with my family. I hope to get some lovely sun and relaxation on the beach and be back with you again soon!

I hope you have a great weekend!

WCMD Blog Hop and Giveaway!

Hello there! Did you see my post from yesterday?? So, the big news is that Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking magazine is officially no more at the end of this year. SO, what does that mean? Well, mostly it means we are all really really sad!

But also, that means that this card you see below, will never be published. This was one of my entries for World Card Making Day 2014, and it won in the birthday category! Usually winners are published in a magazine issue, but since that won't be happening all the winners of WCMD 2014 are having their own little blog hop. We are all so excited!!

Here are the amazing ladies who all get to share in this fun news with me! You can find all their blog links at the end of this post. Have fun hopping!

First off, you should have come here from SIMONE's blog. (If you want to go back to the beginning or get lost at any time, just click from the list below.)

Here is my card:

I chose to do the stamp kissing technique for this one. I used some Mama Elephant balloons, a Hero Arts design block for kissing and Sweet Stamp Shop for the sentiment.

And let me tell ya, I totally sweat bullets over the placement of those enamel dots! I don't know why they are so hard for me, but I'm vexed every time.

Here is the list of winners with three ladies in each category. If you have some time, take a look and leave some love. We are all going through a mourning process over this and there is always room for a kind word to all who are affected by this change.

Plus, be sure to read the fine print because some of us ladies are having a bit of a giveaway. Yes! You heard me right! I received a plethora of prizes and I want TO SHARE that love with YOU! Thank you so much to each of you for your kind comments and support through this last year. It has been AMAZING! So many new opportunities, and fun things to be apart of, and you have been with me through it all. So please LEAVE ONE COMMENT for me here for this visit and ONE COMMENT here if you LIKE my Facebook page. Each will give you an entry into my giveaway of lots of fun prizes! Contest ends Dec. 10!

Thanks so much for stopping in today. Love to you and yours!

Paper Crafts and Scrapbooking Magazine Special Blog Hop

Hello there!  Today I have the privilege to participate in a very special blog hop for our beloved Paper Crafts and Scrapbooking magazine. As you all know by now, Paper Crafts has had to close down their magazine publications. There are so many of us who have been blessed to be inside those pages to share our love of crafting and inspire each other through this amazing craft of ours.

I remember seeing my very first Paper Crafts magazine in 2007. My mother-in-law had a copy and showed me certain cards as she ooh-ed and aah-ed through the pages. I remember seeing one card that someone had sew on with their sewing machine and remember thinking, "What!? I would never do something like that. Who would take the time to do that!?"
Little did I know that from a small moment in time, I would transform into what I am now. At that moment I had no intention of EVER doing paper crafts. In fact I remember thinking just that.. "I would never do that!"  However, I had a friend in NY who was a SU! demonstrator and a few of us met together by her urging, mostly to chat and eat snacks, but she ended up starting a fire storm in me! (Thank you Ann!)

I started my blog in the summer of 2008 and between birthing kids and moving homes (and countries) paper crafting has seen me through the crazy times. Late nights made up of die cutting, embossing, stamping, trimming, colouring and blurry eyed excitement as I tried new things and found something that helped keep me sane through the days of feeding, burping, diaper changing, and house cleaning. It has been something that has helped me be more than just a mom and house wife. It has helped me stay creatively fulfilled which we all know is so hard when you are a woman wearing so many different hats for everyone else but yourself.

I remember the first email I received from Susan R. Opel. Holy cow, did I squeal!!! It was for a December issue and I had 2 cards chosen. It was such an amazing feeling!
This year has been a big one for me as Paper Craft Magazine saw me through Gallery Idol 2014 AND a World Card Making Day win! I have been so excited to participate with them and other amazing crafters in these contests. I wouldn't be where I am without PC&S and their amazing team. Thank you thank you THANK YOU!! Here are a few cards to share with you, that will never express my full gratitude to each and every person that has worked at PC&S through the years. Thank you for your hard work and dedication not just to paper crafting but to each one of us as designers and online (and physical) friends! You have cheered us on and inspired us. Thanks Ever So Much!:

You mean the world to us and you will be sorely missed!

Paper Wings Productions Monthly Challenge

Hey there! Today is the Paper Wings Productions monthly challenge! And its all about the holidays!

Here is my card:

For this card, I wanted to create a Christmas theme but not necessarily using Christmas stamps. I like a challenge, as you know ;) I gathered my supplies. I have an old book that I use just for crafting. I tore a page from it and trimmed it down to an A2 size. I'm using the Whimiscal Alphabet stamp.

After stamping my letters to spell out: "A Merry Christmas" in the shape of a tree, I took some white ink and sponged a halo around it. I then took some tea dye distress ink to put some shading around the edges of the page.

I then die cut a ribbon, star and holy berries and stamped them with some patterns from Sacred Geometry.
I adhered my paper just a bit in the middle of the page and then sewed around the edge with my sewing machine. I then adhered all of my items and added an enamel dot to the bottom.

And that's it! I hope you have a great time working with the challenge this month. It's always fun to create Christmas cards! And as always, Christmas is coming fast! Are you ready?? I am freaking out! I usually am pretty organised but this year it has eluded me. So I hope there is a Christmas miracle in there somewhere for me!

I hope you have a great week and a great December where ever you live and whatever you celebrate! Thanks for sharing your time with me!

xoxo
