Teacher

I realize this card is waaaay late, but I was going through some of my Kim Hughes sets and realized again how much I love this one called Making the Grade. These are all etched rubber but have a backing you can use with acrylic blocks so it helps with storage, which is something we all need. It's a great set with a lot of wonderful versatile images in it.  And since  I love it and it's still fall, I thought it was only right to acknowledge all those people who have gone back to school. Teachers and students alike. Good luck this year, and thanks for all you do!!
I also am celebrating a new find.... twine. Scored it out of Patrick's tool box. I'm pretty sure we have only ever used it to tie up magazine for recycling and I am just as sure he will not miss the big stash I pulled off for myself. You may notice it around for the next week or so. That seems to be my weakness, overusing things when I first find them. But I just get excited at how many places it can be used!
The backgrounder stamp is also from Cornish Heritage Farms called Lined Paper Backgrounder and is also a fun image to have in a stamp arsenal. You will see that one a fair amount too. I double inked the trees with Old Olive and basic grey, only because I didn't have my markers but I do like the effect it added. I also sponged around the white paper strip with some Lemon Tart ink to give it some detail.

Since I am now officially moving, I have decided I will have to take a hiatus from buying stamps, to save a little of the green. With that in mind, I have recently purchased a few sets that I can keep in hiding until I am really dying for something new and depressed at the lack of stamp fundage. This lined paper backgrounder WAS one of those. But I just couldn't wait! So come January when I am feeling sad because of the cold weather and bored of all my stamps please remind me of this day and that I only have myself to blame.
thanks for stopping by!
