365 Cards: Stamping Boutique Week!

Good morning to you today! I am still here today....which means no baby yet! Thanks for joining me today!  So this week is the wonderful Stamping Boutique Week!  Check out their website. You will love all the great images you can get. Especially if you love to color! We got these really cute images to work with this week. Here is my take on the sketch with my Stamping Boutique Image:

Now isn't that just the cutest wagon full o' hearts?? I colored them up with pencils and added some glitter for shine. Of course no Valentine is complete without scallops and ribbon! I look forward to giving this one away to my cute 5 yr. old who LOVES getting cards.

365 Cards: 3 G's Challenge

Hey there all! Today's challenge over at 365 Cards is a continuation on a theme that will be running all week. You have seen Gloria's 3 P's and Audrey's 3 R's.  My challenge (and yours should you choose to take it) is the 3 G's;  Green, Glitter and Grosgrain!!

Here is what I came up with:

My card ended up a lot more elegant than I had originally planned, but I still like it. I started with green cardstock and stamped the first green medallions. I then overlapped them with some cream ink medallions and sprinkled glitter over it all. The cream ink helped all that glitter stick!
Then I added in my black elements which include my grosgrain ribbon. I love these new labels die cuts I got and find them quite useful! Add in a little more bling and you have an elegant birthday card. 3 G's: done, done and done!

Ok so here is a baby update:  My DH should be coming home today. I will find out if they will really let him leave since he has been running into a lot of snags with the execution of his design (which he is doing for the broadcast of the Olympics in Canada) So, IF they don't make him stay a few extra days to problem solve, then hopefully I will see the doc. tomorrow and try to get this labor started for the weekend. Of course there is also Parent Teacher Conferences that need to be done and my 3 yr. olds birthday party, but I should be able to get a baby out during all of that right ; )  And of course if DH doesn't get to come home until the weekend, I am just going to try and hold tight until he can be here. I will let you ALL know the minute our new one arrives!!

Overall I feel pretty good. I usually have a productive day and then a tired day, but all in all life is still moving along and I don't have a lot of pain or frustration (knock on wood!) and considering my DH is gone and also SO stressed with work (oh and the fact that yesterday I couldn't get ahold of him and really thought he was hurt or something) I am holding it together quite well.

So that's it in a nutshell. Can't wait to get the next phase of life started. Should be exciting and painful and fun and tiring and you know.... like having a baby!

Stamp It! Cards

365 Cards Sketchy Sunday!!

Happy Sunday to you! Today's sketch is a classic! Nice clean lines and lots of room for interp. I love this sketch and wanted to get stampy with it. Here is what Pam gave us over at 365 Cards:

And here is my take on it:
You know this is the first time in a long time that I actually got my card finished with plenty of time to spare. Whew! With this baby only DAYS away, I need to really get my act together and finish as much as I can. My DH gets home thurs. and after that we are going to do everything needed to get this baby out!
Ok, as far as explanation goes, I overlapped my stamping to create my blue paper. Lots of curly stamps with red and blue. I added a lot of scallops which gives this original "boy" card a lot of "girl" flair. And the big button... can you say LOVE IT! It is so stylish and vintage its so fun to look at. I picked up the large embossed scallop border punch and it is every bit as fun as it looks.

365 Cards: Card Recipe Challenge

Hey there all! Today I got to play with another card recipe over at 365 Cards. I was reminded how much I LOVE them! Here is the recipe for you to play along with:

What I love about card recipes is how fun it is to see things come together. Even when you only have a few items. Sometimes it takes a lot of stress out of creating and other times its a real challenge!

This card went together fast and I love this paper (I got it from Paper Craft Mag. for winning a card contest during World Card Making Day! WOOT!) I used a Pink Persimmon stamp for my sentiment. Pink Persimmon: Bakery Box Bonanza!

Hey all! Here is a little something I made up for the Pink Persimmon Bakery Box Bonanza that is going on all week over at their website.  Check it out!:
They carry these really great pink bakery boxes in their store. I highly suggest picking yourself up a few for the coming holiday they are muy handy! I took my box and cut out a hole in the top and replaced it with some acetate for my window. I also used my circle nestabilities to cut out an insert to keep my special gift from moving around in the box.
As you can see I made cupcakes! These are special cupcakes though. Non fattening but kinda cotten-y....they are made from socks! This is a tutorial I had seen from Lauren Meader last year that I have been dying to use ever since. You can check out the tutorial/video HERE.

Here is what my little cupcake looked like when I was all done. It took some doing because I actually used adult socks that are almost knee high. In the video, Lauren uses kid socks for a baby gift. But this gift I wanted to send to a friend and I didn't think she would fit into kid socks ; ) So there was a LOT of rolling and stuffing, but where there is a will there is a way!

You can see I put in my cupcake socks (a total of two pair) and decorated the box up right.
Here is a view from the top. I love this look cause they really do look like cupcakes! I made up a cupcake tag using Pink Persimmons Vintage Greetings set and Sweet Greetings Set. They are both fabulous to play with.
SO thats it! Here is another shot just for your amusement... does it amuse you?? This was a very fun project and I feel even closer to being ready for Valentine's Day. Another fun gift to give away. Hope you like it!

Pink Persimmon SWEET!

Here is a little something I made over at Pink Persimmon to get a jump start on the LOVE month! I love that you really can make a card with just about any stamp:

I used the SWEET sentiment over and over and over and over (uh, I am sure you get the point!) I also wanted to use the wagon stamp all by itself and prove that you don't need to color it. Did I succeed? Well, after adding the hearts the rest is history!

This is just the first of a few Pink Persimmon cards and projects that I will be sharing with you in the next few weeks so stay tuned!

365 Cards Sketchy Sunday!!

Good Sunday morning to you! Today's 365 Cards Sketch:

Hmmmm. I like this one. Its a bit different, but different is definitely good! I toyed with flipping it, or making an envelope card, but when it all came down to it, here is what I did:
I picked up some My Cute Stamps while I was in Utah this Christmas and of course the lovely ladies over at Pink Persimmon sent me some fun stuff to play with too! I just love this banner set and sentiments. SO fun.
 I like how this one turned out. I added some glitter for the center of the flowers and popped them up with dots. Just bright and fun enough to keep me going on a dreary January day. 

As for news here, I realize I am a bit out of it. I would love to say that will change, but with the baby coming soon, I don't see me getting out of the clouds much for the next little bit. I will however still be doing 365 Cards for another month or so and of course Pink Persimmon CT as well. So there is enough to keep me going and enough hopefully to keep you coming back! I also have some valentines I want to make up and you will never believe what fun thing I was given by my mother..... A Cricut Expression!!! Talk about a big WOOT! I have been trying to figure the thing out and hope to get some projects underway this week. So lots of fun stuff to share in the next little bit.

My DH is finishing up his work for the Olympics so I will see little of him for the next few weeks. The trick now is to keep this baby inside until just the right moment. Then we can deliver him and start on our re-coup. It's been a busy and tough couple of months and I am trying to hang on for this last stretch. Adding that to the fact that I really can't bend over or take care of my two boys very well, plus the really cold weather has me indoors a lot so we have found ourselves watching a lot of movies. Every time I craft there is a crisis with someone, so I can never finish anything I start so that only leaves the nights for me to work, and then at that point I am always so pooped out after a full day it takes a lot to keep me going into the night hours! But I do see a light at the end of the tunnel, but also realize that could fade quickly given sleep deprivation. ; ) I am curious to meet our new little one and also curious as to how I am going to manage everything. I look forward to doing some crafting this week and hopefully have some fun things to share while I am away giving birth, so hang in there with me!!!

365 Cards: Teen Scene

Hey there people! Today's 365 Card Challenge is to use a teenage girl as your inspiration. I am ashamed to admit, that I no longer know what it is like to be a teenager! I really NEVER thought I would get that way, but it has finally happened. I guess that means I'm old? Or finally a parent ; ) So today's challenge was tough for me. Good thing I ran across this fun, bright paper by American Craft! I don't know if it screams "teen!" in 2010, but to me it's fun, loud, and a bit crazy which is how I would describe my life when I was a teen. Here is my card:

I used this cute digi stamp image from In Style Stamps.  It seemed pretty darn "teen" too me. I found the sentiment 'girl' stamp and wrote the word 'hey' in red myself.

I made this card 4.25 square. I wanted it to be a bit smaller. Something you could slip into a backpack or leave in a teens bedroom. Of course considering how messy I am as an adult, I should have made this card HUGE in order for a teen to find it in their room. I always remember heaps of clothes. What about you?? Do you know what it's like to be a teen nowadays?  Or maybe you still are one, I would LOVE to hear from you!

365 Cards Sketchy Sunday

WOAH! What a year it has been. I am FINALLY home after traveling for quite a few weeks and let me tell you, it feels good to be back. Regardless of the nightmare of re-entering real life, its quite nice to back in my own home, my own bed and getting to see friends again! I have been seriously MIA, but I hope to get in a few posts this month before dear baby comes along. So lets get started!

Here is Pam's sketch for today over at 365 Cards:

I like this sketch. It's very appealing to me. Of course after having some time off, it still stumped me and took a bit of doing. I also got to use this fun butterfly image from In Style Stamps. Here is what I came up with :I have these spiral notecards from Making Memories that I trimmed and added as the front shapes. Some of the swirlies were there, but I added a few more and the rose image to give me some color. I covered that butterfly with glitter and pearl essence to make it shimmer. Curl up the wings a bit to make it fly! 

Here is a close up of it. Um... it looks a lot more gooped on than it is (I think). This is one of many digital download you can purchase from In Style Stamps. Head on over and take a look. They have a lot of fun things and you will see even more of them from all of us at 365 Cards this week.

I am looking at the next few weeks worth of projects. I would really like to have them all done by the time the baby gets here, so you might not see much of me other than on challenge days. Yesterday I bought diapers, pacifiers and pulled out the old clothes. Now just got to get them washed and find a place to put them! The co-sleeper is in the corner waiting to be opened and of course I still need to figure out the hospital admittance form and pack a bag, but I still have a few weeks, so there is time. Hopefully there will be enough time for ALL of it!

I hope you all had a splendid holiday for those of you who have been celebrating something over this last month. I sure did! Lots of flying and driving to visit relatives and friends. The kids and I have had a few rough days getting back on track this week. I anticipate another few days before things really settle down. Lots of tantrums (both the kids and I), lots of tears shed (again, by all of us) and the house is a wreck. I hope to have enough motivation to get it taken care of before DH gets into town today, but you know I really can't make any promises ; ) Good thing DH doesn't mind! He has been away from home on and off for about a month so we are looking forward to spending some time together as a family and vegging out in our pjs. Sounds nice doesn't it? I picked up LOTS of movies from the library and some ice cream, so we should have a pretty good time. Hope you guys do too!

365 Cards Sketchy Sunday!

Hello To You! It's the New Year. What an amazing thing to still be here in 2010! Today's 365 Cards sunday sketch, provided by Pam:

Here is my take on the sketch. Now please disregard the occasion this is for. My mom asked for a card that she could give some money for Christmas and I had this sketch to do, so it's a little out of date. But I did think the sketch looked like a great money card:

I folded this as a regular card and cut off half of one side and stitched it up after stamping it. 

Here is a close up of the stamping and sponging around the edges:

You can see the tag separates from the base. My mom gave me this great idea for holding money. I used an old picture holder from a wallet and cut one of the sleeves from the pack. I taped it down onto the tag and slipped the money in! When you remove the money you can see the writing from the giver:

That's it! This is a perfect way to give money to anyone. And can be adapted to any occasion.

 So people, I got a Cricut for Christmas from my mother!! Can't wait to get using it and showing you the fun things that can be made. I am collecting all the cartridges I can!
