CutCardStock.com Post

Hey there! Long time no blog, eh?
So, you know here at thekristiesessions we have some action in the family department. (NO! not another baby!) But my mother is coming today and my son is having a birthday tomorrow and then being baptised the next day, so its been a little crazy crazy around here.

But I wanted to stop in to let you know that I will be over at CutCardStock.com sharing a little one layer die cut in-lay birthday card with you. So head on over!

here's a little sneak peek:

Actually this photo was all my 4 year olds design. He so wanted his teddy to hold the card. So I thought I would post it for you!

And be sure to check out the specials going on in THE STORE. They always have something great!

Thanks for stopping in today. I hope to be back next week a little more relaxed!

Hello!

Happy new week to you! Just wanted to stop in and say Howdy-do!

It's a new week over here at thekristiesessions and I wanted to stop in and share a few things.

First, last friday I was over at A Walk Down Memory Lane with a little post with the embossing resist technique using distress inks. I love that technique so much. It's fun and easy! Do you have distress inks? I had some a loooong while back but didn't appreciate them much and got rid of them. (also in hindsight, I didn't have very fun colors!) Now with these {not so} new mini ink pads and circle applicators, I have a whole new love for them all! I love that you can buy a set of 4 colours. Ink can get expensive so it's nice to get to try out different colours for a reasonable price. And I love that you can use them for so many techniques! Anyway, check out the post HERE if you are curious.

And here is a little HELLO card to share with you today.

This little guy was made using some white heat embossing and then colouring in spaces using Copic markers. It's a really simple treatment, but I do love the results!

As soon as I saw this Papertrey Ink set, I knew I wanted it. It took me a long time to actually get it, but I do not regret it! This card would be lovely using multiple colours for the flowers, but I love the blue and white combo too. The sentiment is a few die cuts stacked on each other. The bottom layers being white and the top blue layer off set just a bit to the side.

And that's all for me today! Thanks for taking the time to visit. I hope you have a great great week!
Join me over at A Walk Down Memory Lane blog for my friday post and I'll be back with some CutCardstock.Com love the beginning of next week too!

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

Welp, tis no surprise that I missed the challenge AGAIN! Man, the week just goes by so fast for me! BUT I am happy to say that I did make a card. Which really is the first hurdle. It was just the posting of it that threw me. So without further ado, here is my Simon Says Stamp wednesday challenge card:

The challenge was to use Simon Says Stamp exclusive products. I chose this cute stamp set and die cuts that came out late last year. I'm embarrassed to say this is the FIRST time they have seen ink! I also used the waves stencil with embossing paste and distress inks for my bowl water. I popped everything up using dimensionals and added some Wink of Stella over the water for some added shimmer.

Here is a little close up peek.

Thanks for checking in today. It's been kind of a hectic week. One of those where you say, "How is it ONLY Wednesday?" Cause you feel like you have already lived three weeks in one. I guess I could pretend it is Wednesday three weeks from now?!! That may just work ;)

Thanks for stopping in. I love's you!

Graphic Stamps and Pigment Ink

Hey there! Just checking in with you all.  Things have slowed down here a bit and its been kinda quiet in kristiesessions-land due to some of my DT contracts ending. And I'm just takin' 'er easy for a bit. Sometimes its nice to slow down, you know? I've been hanging out with my kids more and enjoying some ME time when they go off to school during the day.  And I dare say, it's nice!

But I wanted to come say HI to you! So I thought I would share a very simple one layer card that has some boldness in it. Say hello:

I really am a sucker for quick stamping. Don't get me wrong I LOVE complicated stuff and man, there is some AMAZING things out there that people do and when I see it I am inspired to pull out all the punches and make a lean mean artsy-fartsy card, but sometimes you just need a quick one. You know?

I have found that I rarely have birthday cards on hand to give away and especially for boys. So if the occasion comes up, I need to get down and dirty and stamp one out in 15 minutes before I run out the door to a party. This is how this card was born. How did I have time for a picture you ask? Well actually this stamped up SO fast I made two, in 15 min... yup, that's how you rock a birthday party.

I took ONE stamp from an Avery Elle set and my favorite pigment inks and set to it. And Voila! A quick card for a quick birthday.

Ok. so that's it! Easy! Be sure to stop by later this week over at A Walk Down Memory Lane where I will be sharing my weekly card and next week I will be over at CutCardStock.com!  I am also starting up over at Canvas Corp but it will still be a bit yet since I am waiting on shipments. Meanwhile I am making up a slew of easy, fast birthday tags as a gift for my mother-in-law. That's what I have been working on tonight and now I need to go to bed (It's past midnight here in Singapore!)

So without further ado, I will bid you ado! (So while I have been crafting I have also been binge watching old episodes from The Office, and I am turning into Michael Scott!-- Great Scott!)

Ok. I love you all. Have to sleeeeeeep. Have a great day no matter where on the earth you live!
