Hey there on a rainy Tuesday! It got really dark here this morning with clouds and fog rolling and it was freaking me out. Lots of thunder and rain. The kids kept asking "what's that noise?" And a little tidbit about me: thunder, wind and rain scare me a bit. I tried not to let the kids notice though ; )
Anyway, I combined 2 challenges today. The 365 Cards challenge today is to use a vegetable image. And then I ran across this challenge from Lisa Spangler of Hero Arts. Her blog is full of amazing photos! So she is combining card challenges with camera challenges. This first one is to learn about White Balance.
Not too bad. Just dark (I need more light!) and a bit blue.
This next photo was taken the same but then lightened in photoshop with the brightness/contrast option:
you can see a burn spot on it and it is still a bit blue for my taste.

This last photo is the same one but I brightened it AND changed the color levels. I pulled in more yellow and red to balance out the blue.
This is usually what I do for all my photos. The light I use isn't adequate enough to make a great photo right out of the gate. I usually do a color balance and a brightness/contrast balance.

SO there you have it! If you are wondering about how to get better photos, head on over to Lisa's blog and read her tutorials.
AND be sure to ink up some of your favorite veggie images to participate in the 365 Cards challenge for today!!
Have a good one!

ReplyDeleteKristie, great card and thanks for the tips. I always have to do some brightness adjustments on my cards. Someday I will take a photo class.
ReplyDeleteCute card! I love those peas.
ReplyDeleteI also fuss with my cards in Photoshop to get the light balance and also to color correct sometimes. Here, it's either TOO bright or foggy like today. Hard to find a middle ground! LOL
Thanks for playing along with the veggie challenge today. That Pease stamp is perfect. Great card!
